The adventure of making Lunch in community

Making of the meal.

Team work doesn’t get much better than this.  I didn’t get my camera out in time, but Memo began the adventure by cutting up all the tomatoes.  Isa awoke early this morning and went to the Panneria and purchased many loaves of fresh bread.  Joahanna peeled off the outer layer of the Oaxacan  cheese to get things ready.

Xavier and I spread the mayo, and then organized the buns. The assembly line started with frijoles from last night’s comida / cena refried and spread inside each of the buns by Isa.   Then it was a team effort spreading out the buns, laying in the ham, the cheese, the tomatoes, and the lettuce, then wrapping them in napkins and back inside the bag they came in.

We made enough for everyone to get 2.5 sandwiches, of course, there was leftovers and we will be eating those for breakfast, and because of this we can all sleep in, or at least not have to get Desayuno = Breakfast ready for all.
The sandwiches were accompanied by fruta guyaba, manzanita ( apple) and cortita plantas ( Sweet tiny banana’s)  what a tasty treat.  I ventured deeper into the experience and spread jalapeños upon mine and a garlic chili oil that was quite the tasty spice load but truly a great roasted taste.    We didn’t get a picture but Memo took a bit for his sandwich and his face was priceless once he realized how hot the chili oil was.

On the guyaba and apples we tried a salty hot pepper dry shaker it was interesting.  Xavier and Doug treated everyone to Coca Lite and Coca cola as well as agua
We were so relaxed, it was a joyful day at the hot springs relaxing and getting to know not only those who live in the homes but all those that are part of the community daily life.
